Dimension Data MEA’s information technology service business sought a creative and engaging workspace when they relocated to the first floor of the Kings Park building at the Campus. Eager to move away from the rigid, linear planning that characterised their previous office; CIO Laurent Leclercq advocated for an organic layout of mobile desks. Working within a tight budget, Pyramid Office proposed a number of simple interventions that transformed the open plan space. Existing rectangular desk tops were fitted with new legs on castor wheels. New mobile, wedge-shaped storage units were supplied; allowing desks to be configured in free-flowing snake-like arrangements.

Re-use and repurpose
to reduce costs and waste
"In April 2018 the Dimension Data IT team embarked on a project to create a workspace more aligned with agile ways of working. It was important that this new space allowed for nomadic behaviour, encouraged collaboration and fostered creativity.
To this end we engaged with Pyramid Office to assist with the design, sourcing and implementation of the new space. I found the team to be highly responsive and flexible. The project was completed on time and within budget and the end result really speaks for itself!"
An interior landscape
that is varied and engaging
Along with a fully-customisable open plan, the light-filled workspace encompasses a variety of work, relaxation and meeting areas. Bar-height meeting tables, paired with wobble stools and mobile whiteboards offer interactive open plan meeting zones. Need a little more privacy? Booths with soft bench seating act as semi-enclosed discussion pods. Mobile ottomans cluster in front of a 7 meter length of writable wall; to create an all-staff stand-up space. Height adjustable workstations looking onto the oval provide the option for standing work.
